He received a Juris Doctor degree from John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, a B.A. in Religion and Philosophy from Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach, and studied at Atlanta's Morehouse School of Religion Seminary. Ordained in 1983, Dozier has been a licensed minister since 1975. He was Professor of Law at the Criminal Justice Institute of Broward Community College for three years, and also appointed to Florida's Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission. Dr. Dozier's church aids the poor via a Saturday food pantry program and various community and global mission agencies. Dozier has been called to White House and State Department meetings focused the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Africa, a G-8 Summit, and other international concerns. He also received a gubernatorial appointment to the Board of Directors of Florida's One Church, One Child adoption program. An outside linebacker in the National Football League for the Chicago Bears and the New York Jets, Dozier was a player/coach for the Alabama Vulcans of the American Football Association. While serving two consecutive terms in the United States Army. While stationed in Germany, he was Head Football Coach of the Ansbach American High School Championship football team. In 2007, Dozier was appointed by the World Council of Independent Christian Churches to be their Florida State Director. Dr. Dozier has also served as a contract panelist on National Public Radio's News and Notes Roundtable, hosted by Emmy-award winning journalist, Ed Gordon. Dozier's first book, Who's On The Lord's Side Politically? (2008, Armour Of Light Publishing) is "a faith-based guide to the democratic process that stresses adherence to Judeo-Christian principles over partisanship or racial politics."
